Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we hear most from our Roanoke patients.
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes! New patients of all ages are always welcome at our Roanoke practice. Whether you're a longtime resident or new to the area, we'd love to be your dental home. Give us a call or use our online contact form to book your first visit.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring a valid photo ID, your dental insurance card (if you have one), a list of any medications you're currently taking, and your completed new patient forms. If you have recent dental X-rays from a previous provider, we're happy to request those records on your behalf — just let us know.
Do you accept my dental insurance?
Most major dental insurance plans are welcome here, including Delta Dental, Cigna, MetLife, Aetna, United Healthcare, and many others. Your front desk team will verify your benefits before your appointment so you know exactly what to expect. If you don't see your plan listed, just give us a call and we'll check for you.
What if I don't have dental insurance?
Uninsured patients are very welcome. You'll get competitive self-pay rates, and financing through CareCredit is available so you can spread the cost of treatment into comfortable monthly payments. You'll always get a detailed cost estimate before any work begins — no surprises.
How often should I visit the dentist?
For most patients, a professional cleaning and exam every six months keeps things on track. If you have a history of gum disease or other oral-health conditions, you may benefit from a slightly tighter schedule — and Dr. Saado will recommend a rhythm that fits you.
Do you offer same-day emergency appointments?
Yes. Time is held open in our daily schedule for dental emergencies. If you're dealing with severe tooth pain, a broken tooth, a knocked-out tooth, or any other urgent issue, call the office first thing in the morning and we'll do our best to see you the same day.
Is teeth whitening safe?
Professional teeth whitening under dental supervision is safe and effective. Our in-office and take-home whitening options use professional-grade products that are gentler on your enamel than many over-the-counter alternatives. Your teeth will be evaluated first to confirm whitening is the right move for you.
When should my child first visit the dentist?
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends children see a dentist by their first birthday or within six months of their first tooth erupting — whichever comes first. Early visits help your child build a positive, unscary relationship with dental care and let the team watch how their teeth are coming in.
Do you offer sedation for anxious patients?
Dental anxiety is common, and it's taken seriously here. You'll find a calm, comfortable environment from the moment you walk in. Nitrous oxide and oral sedation are both available — please let us know about any anxiety when you book so your visit can be tailored around you.
How do I schedule an appointment?
You can book an appointment by calling our office at 540-362-3047 during business hours, or by filling out the contact form on our website. You'll get a confirmation and a reminder before your visit — no guesswork.
Does Magnolia Dental Roanoke accept Medicaid?
We do not currently participate as an in-network Medicaid provider. If you have Medicaid, please call us at 540-362-3047 and we'll talk through the options that fit your situation — including our in-house membership plan and CareCredit financing, both designed to keep care affordable for every family in north Roanoke.
What are your clinical hours?
Our office is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We're closed Saturdays and Sundays. Online booking is available 24/7 at our book-online page, and same-day emergency slots are held open every weekday — call first thing in the morning if you're in pain.
How long is a new-patient visit?
Plan on about 60 to 90 minutes for your first visit. That gives Dr. Saado and the team time for a full set of digital X-rays, a comprehensive exam, an oral cancer screening, and an unhurried conversation about your goals and any questions you have. If you're due for a cleaning, we'll often do that the same day.
Do you have Spanish-speaking staff?
We do our best to accommodate Spanish-speaking patients and their families. Please let us know when you book — call 540-362-3047 — and we'll make sure a Spanish-speaking team member is available to help you with check-in, paperwork, and translating during your visit when possible.
